About ATA-IN

The American Turkish Association of Indiana (ATA-IN) was founded in 2001. It is a non-political, public benefit organization founded to promote better understanding between the American and Turkish peoples through social, educational, cultural and charitable activities.

The organization completed its filings in 2002 to become a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt not-for-profit organization in line with the Internal Revenue Code of 1954. As of 2003 we have been approved for that status for federal and state tax purposes. Legal details can be reached by the following link:

ATA-IN is governed by an all volunteer Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The Board conducts the business of the Association through the committees it appoints and holds monthly meetings to coordinate its activities. These meetings are open to all ATA-IN members and guests are always welcome. A general assembly meeting is held each year in October. At this meeting annual reports are presented and elections for the Board of Directors and officers of ATA-IN are held.
